Welcome back to Top 10 Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl! This week’s topic is auto-buy authors.
Fun fact: this topic was one of the first TTT topics I participated in back in 2015. Check out my list here. I think I sound so cute in this post. It was one of my first posts so it was fun to revisit it this week.
Today I’m spinning this topic a bit to share some of my top auto-buy romance authors. One of my favorite genres is clean historical or contemporary romance. And these are some of the best I’ve read! And I definitely own all of the books I mention in this post. I just finished A Defense of Honor by Kristi Ann Hunter (I LOVE HER WORK!!) so I’m in a romance mood. Enjoy!
Kristi Ann Hunter // I recommend everything she writes. Start with the Hawthorne House series (4 books) and then Haven Manor (3 books). You’re welcome.
Dawn Crandall // I love love love Dawn’s Everstone Chronicles. There are 4 books and a novella. They are beautiful. My favorite is The Captive Imposter.
Katherine Reay // Katherine’s books aren’t strictly romance–but they have lovely romantic elements in them. I love everything she writes. Favorites: Lizzy and Jane & Dear Mr Knightley.
Carla Laureano // Carla is my go to right now for contemporary romance. Her Saturday Night Supper Club series is fantastic (I’m anxiously awaiting book 3!) and I can’t wait to read more of her MacDonald Family Trilogy.
Josi S. Kilpack // Josi has a long list of fantastic historical romances to her name and several other books as well. My favorites are her historical literary proper romances. She has novels about the love story of Sir Walter Scott, Harriett Beecher Stowe, and Henry Longfellow. All are fantastic and my favorite is The Lady of the Lakes!
Julianne Donaldson // If you read one historical romance, it should be Edenbrooke. It’s still one of my favorites of all time.
Elizabeth Camden // Elizabeth’s novels are beautiful love stories set in unique time periods in American history. I always learn so much from her books and love the romance too. Favorites: With Every Breathe & Until the Dawn
Kristy Cambron // Kristy is another fantastic author that writes such beautiful stories with lovely romance as well. No one tells a story quite like Kristy. Favorites: The Butterfly and the Violin & The Ringmaster’s Wife.
Have you enjoyed any of these authors before? Who are your favorites?
And who do I need to start reading?

What age would these books be recommended for?

Hi Ella, thanks for your question. I would say teenagers and older. They are clean books but the subject matter is more for an older audience. I love them now as a young mom and I first read Edenbrooke in college. Hope that helps 🙂
