Welcome back to Top 10 Tuesday hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! Seriously, I love this link-up and all the great bloggers I continue to meet through it. Thanks for taking the time to read these posts! This week’s topic is Top Ten Of Your Auto-buy Authors (no matter the genre or what it’s about…you’ll buy it from these authors!).
This was a bit of a tricky one for me. I am definitely an impulse buyer when it comes to some authors. And sometimes I will even buy another copy of the same book if its old and beautiful. One of my favorite places in the world is a used bookstore. And I like to own the classics. I also like to own complete series. So if I buy the first one, I will probably buy the subsequent books. But I also like to buy books that I think I will read. So I spend a lot of time reading back covers and book jacket flaps looking for the right book.
So perhaps I would call this my list of authors who I auto-consider-buying-their-books.
Charles Dickens // Luckily, there are a lot of novels to choose from with Dickens. I have found some truly beautiful books in little bookshops across England and the US. Several of his remain on my list to read.
Jane Austen // I have multiple copies of most of Austen’s novels. For me, she writes timeless, beautiful, and engaging stories. Love them and wish there were more.
Rick Riordan // One of my favorite young adult novelists. I love how he blends mythology with reality. And there are so many books! Definitely need to own more by him.
Kiera Cass // One of my recently favorite series is The Selection, which I have blogged about here and here. I absolutely love these books. And I am dying for the 5th book coming out next year!
C. S. Lewis // Narnia is classic. And I have only read the tip of the iceberg of all Lewis writing out there.
Shannon Hale // I have praised Shannon Hale several times in my Top 10 Tuesday posts and recently reviewed Forest Born. I just love her books and need to own more of them. Her stories are unique, engaging, and fun!
Louisa May Alcott // Little Women is one of my favorite books of all time. I only own a few of her books but would like to read and own more.
Roald Dahl // My parents own several of his books. But I want to build up my personal library of Dahl books. They are so fun and great to read out loud. See my review of Matilda here.
Brandon Mull // I highly recommend the Fablehaven series–one of my favorite fantasy series ever. I need to read and own more of what he has written.
Barnes and Noble Classics // I love the hardcover copies of the classics that Barnes and Noble has. There are several kinds and I own copies of several. I love building my classics library. They are beautiful and look amazing on bookshelves 🙂

I love Austen too! Her novels are so smart, funny, and timeless! I am always eyeing up beautiful editions of her novels. I own the compete set of her novels in the Vintage Publishing editions, which I really love.
