Hello bookish friends!
Glad to be back and hopefully more regularly in the coming weeks. I’ve shared with some of you that I am finally able to think about something in life besides eating and resting. Oh pregnancy, how it changes everything for me!
Today I am participating in my first Top 10 Tuesday of 2020 (TTT hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl). I thought I would throw it back a bit today for a classic TTT prompt: the TBR. As I am only just starting to plan my reading at all in 2020, I’m excited to share some of my plans for this first part of the year. Enjoy!
What are you reading in 2020?
Doctor do little managed to make it in my list too this week. Check it out.

This is a great list! I see you’re still working on your Newbery challenge. I really enjoyed The Voyages of Doctor Dolittle. It’s so fun! I hope you enjoy it, too.
Good luck with your TBR!

Thanks, Jackie! Yes definitely still thinking about the Newbery winners. Although, my Classics club deadline is later this year (how did that sneak up on me?!) so that is my bigger focus until September. Looking forward to Dr Doolittle!

You’re already at your Classics Club deadline?! Wow– time passes so quickly. Good luck!

Isn’t it crazy?! I only have 8 more to read as suddenly I have about 5 reviews to write for classics. So I feel like this is doable as long as I read a lot right now before baby #3! 😉

I read Two Cities last year and loved it, hope you do too!

Thank you, Jane! I’m about 2/3rds through and really loving it. It was a bit slow for me at first but I am fascinated by the characters now. Dickens is sure a master at writing beautiful scenes and compelling characters!

I found it slow to begin with as well and then by the end went back and re read the beginning!

That’s a great idea! I bet I would enjoy the beginning more knowing how it ends!

Nice list! I really enjoyed The Incorrigible Children books (don’t think I finished the series, but I read at least 3), and A Tale of Two Cities is a book that’s always stayed with me. Wishing you a peaceful pregnancy with lots of good reading!

Finally getting into A Tale of Two Cities and blown away by Dickens words again–such a master of literature!

I’ll be so interested to see what you think of The Incorrigible Children of Ashton Place! I keep seeing this every time I straighten shelves at my library, and I keep thinking it’d be something fun to read. Hope you enjoy these books!
Here’s my TTT post.

The Incorrigible Children was a lot of fun! It surprised me. I think the highlight was the narrator. The narrator voice is witty and clever. Definitely adds to the story. Also I learned that there are several books more in the series so now I’ve started something. Haha!

There are! Which is why I haven’t picked it up yet, because I don’t have time to read another series right now. I’m so glad to hear that you enjoyed it! I love witty narrators, so this one is definitely going on my list of books to check out.

Grandma probably has the John Stockton book 👍🏼 Also dr Doolittle is lovely. I’m hoping to checkout an Italian series where the main character is an Italian detective. Reading in English though 👍🏼

Pregnancy is definitely hard on reading. All I wanted to do for most of it was sleep and watch TV.
