Today I am going a bit off the grid to share a list based on one of my most popular post. I shared my favorite Harry Potter locations years ago (early 2017!) and it’s still one of my most popular posts! After my recent trip to England, I have been thinking about the literary places that I still hope to visit one day.
So I give you my top 10 literary locations that I hope to visit one day! Enjoy!
Prince Edward Island, Canada // Top of my list for some time. I would love to visit the locations that Anne Shirley loved. Ideally in the month of October.
Jane Austen’s House, Chawton England // If you’ve been here long, you should know of my love of Jane Austen. In three trips to England, I haven’t yet made it here. One day!
The Brontë Parsonage, Haworth England // I owe a lot of what I know about this literary location to Katherine Reay in her book The Brontë Plot. While I still aspire to read much more Brontë, I would also love to see this museum one day.
The Kilns, Oxford England // We almost made time for this one on my most recent UK trip. But it’s a bit complicated as they only have tours on certain days as they have scholars in residence. But one day, I hope to explore C. S. Lewis’ house and walk to the church where he is buried.
Orchard House, Concord MA // I’ve toured several of the literary homes near Concord but haven’t been inside this one. Louisa May Alcott lived here and I would love to get a glimpse into her world. I love Little Women and it’s sequels!
Anne Frank House, Amsterdam // After having read A Diary of a Young Girl earlier this year, I would be fascinated to walk the small rooms where Anne composed her diary during WWII. Sure to be a moving and sad experience.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, anywhere // Perhaps this is a bit of a stretch but I would sure love to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on stage one day! I saw the theatre in London where it’s playing. But tickets have been sold out for a while. Plus it’s kind of a big commitment to watch two separate parts with in 24 hours. But I seriously can’t wait to experience it!
Harry Potter Studio Tour, England // Well, as long as I’m stretching my prompt, this location deserves a spot on this list. Yes, technically this is the studio tour with all the goodies from the movies. But it’s still Harry Potter so it will still be awesome! Loved Harry Potter World when we visited several years ago (and let’s be honest, I want to go back there too)!
Hobbiton Movie Set Tours, New Zealand // Same excuse for this one. What an experience this one would be–to tour the set for the Lord of the Rings movies including Hobbiton and the Shire. It looks absolutely beautiful!
Circus Mirandus // Including this favorite circus of mine is connected to my continuing dream to receive my Hogwarts acceptance letter. One day, I hope I hear the familiar drums and pipes announcing that the circus is near. Until then, I enjoy Micah’s stories of this magical circus.

Fun post! I haven’t been to any of these places, although we were in Massachusetts last week and could have gone to the Orchard House. PEI is top on my list as well. It looks so beautiful!

Oooooh! I’ve only made it to the Jane Austen Center in Bath but I really want to go to her house as well!
Another place I’d like to visit is Hilltop Farm! I went for the Beatrix Potter museum earlier this year but couldn’t make it to Hilltop – It sounds lovely and I’d like to go one day.

I’ve seen the Jane Austen Center in Bath too! And HIlltop is really really lovely! It’s a bit tricky to get to. But it really makes you feel like you enter Beatrix Potter’s world. It’s so nice!

Hilltop is lovely. It can get very crowded, but it’s OK at quieter times of year. I’m usually up there in April, and there are always little lambs in the field across the road 🙂 . I need to get to Jane Austen’s house as well …

I’d love to see Hobbiton! I went to the Bronte Parsonage when I was little, but all I really remember is the sweet-shop in the village… I need to go back now I actually know who the Bronte’s are, haha. Have you watched ‘To Walk Invisible?’ It was all filmed in the real locations, I really liked it!

Prince Edward Island for me too. I think about it every year, but it’s a lot of money to see one house!
I’ve been to Concord quite recently, but it was an organised trip which annoyingly went past the Orchard House but not into it. I did take a photo through the coach window, but it wasn’t quite the same thing! The Bronte Parsonage is only 40 miles from me, so that one’s easy 🙂 , and the Anne Frank House is well worth visiting although it gets horrendously busy.

So glad we have similar literary location ambitions 🙂 How lucky to be close to Bronte Parsonage!! Lame you didn’t get inside Orchard House! And hopefully one day we will both save enough pennies to go to Prince Edward Island 🙂
