Hi y’all!
Can you believe it’s September already? I am amazed at how fast the month of August flew by. But we are definitely ready for fall around here. I think fall is my favorite season. I love all things pumpkin, the changing weather, the anticipation of holidays, and college football.
August was a super busy month for us. We had our big Disney trip and then hosted family as well. So I must admit that my reading and review were a bit lax last month.
I finished 3 books in August.
I started/continued 3 books as well.
I reviewed 7 books.
Hawthorne House by Kristi Ann Hunter (series review)
Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee
Emma by Jane Austen
August Goals: I’m already on track for a great month as I finished a book and posted a review on the first! Hoping to get back in the routine of reading and writing regularly this month.
Finish The Two Towers and start The Return of the King.
Finish these lovely novels from a few of my favorite authors.
Read two classics to catch up on my Classics Club goal. Thinking to focus on these. I’ve started listening to Mere Christianity with my husband and it’s fascinating!
Read (or just start) these novels for fun.
What are you reading this month?
The War That Saved My Life has been sitting on my shelf since it came out! I can’t wait to see what you think of it! I’m also interested in The Lost Castle. I really enjoy Kristy Cambron and she’s lovely in person 🙂
If you like character driven novels with quirky characters, you’ll really enjoy A Man Called Ove 🙂

The War That Saved My Life is so good! Really loved it. And it should have won the Newbery instead of the Honor. I love Kristy’s books too! Jealous you’ve met her 😀 I just started A Man Called Ove and I kind of love Ove’s character!

If you end up loving A Man Called Ove, I also recommend The One-in-a-Million Boy 🙂 Similar vibe.

Awesome! Finished Ove last week and loved it! I laughed, I cried, and that Ove is so endearing in his angry old man ways 🙂 Thanks for the rec! Will have to check that out!

We’re dying for cooler weather in Texas! Sadly, I don’t expect it to come until October. Thanks! You too!
