Welcome back to Top 10 Tuesday hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! This week’s theme is underrated gems you’ve read in the past year.
I realized I have been reading a lot of great historical fiction the past year or so that is totally underrated. These are some of my favorite recent reads too. You can see my reviews of all of these on my reviews page. Enjoy!
The Everstone Chronicles by Dawn Crandall
The Lost Heiress by Roseanna M. White
With Every Breath by Elizabeth Camden
The Butterfly and the Violin by Kristy Cambron
A Sparrow in Terezin by Kristy Cambron
The Forgotten Sisters (Princess Academy #3) by Shannon Hale
Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay // Review coming soon!
What are some of your favorite underrated gems?
Well, Lynn Austin’s books are absolutely amazing! I don’t know how popular her books are, but her novels A Proper Pursuit, Wonderland Creek, and Return to Me were all so intriguing and wonderfully written. ❤ I don’t think they get enough praise!

I really like Dear Mr. Knightley too! I have Reay’s latest on my TTT list this week too — I liked it even better than DMK!

I will have to check out your list! And I totally want to read her other novels now. So nerdy and clever! Better than DMK?! It must be good!

I really enjoyed her other two, Lizzy and Jane and The Bronte Plot, but I thought nothing could top Dear Mr. Knightley. Then I read A Portrait of Emily Price and loved it even more. I actually gave a couple copies to friends for Christmas.

They are both great! I love the Jane Austen inspiration and nerdiness of DMK, and APiT is one of my favorite WWII recent reads. Hope you enjoy them both 🙂

I love anything Jane Austen so I’m totally down for it. And the Holocaust was the area of history I studied so I’m interested in picking up the other book as well.
