Hi everyone!
I feel a bit like a broken record when I say…Can you believe we are already in July? I feel like this year gets faster and faster as the months go by. (But seriously.) Lucky for me, I have been able to read so many fantastic books this year! And my plans just keep getting bigger for what I will read next.
June was such a fun reading month for me!
- My Harry Potter Marathon 2016 started off strong with a review of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. I love experiencing the magic again and again.
- I really enjoyed The Long Winter for the #LittleHouseRAL.
- I am proud to say I finished book 9 of War and Peace which puts me just past half way on this masterpiece! And I did a combined review of books 8 and 9.
- As always, my “just fo fun” reading was top notch with The Captive Imposter (please read this series!!), The Land of Stories: The Wishing Spell, and reviewing The Butterfly and the Violin.
July is a big month for my family as we are moving cross country to the great state of Texas! So I am hoping to get some good reading done early in the month so I don’t get behind 🙂
For My Harry Potter Marathon 2016:
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J. K. Rowling // So excited to read this. I feel like I have watched this movie more than the others and look forward to remembering how the book creates this story.
For the #LittleHouse RAL:
Little Town on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder // I’m looking forward to more interactions between Laura and Almanzo in this book.
For the Classics Club:
War and Peace, book 10 by Leo Tolstoy // I’m excited to keep working on this massive novel this month. Feeling more motivated since I’m (barely) on the downhill now!
Heidi by Johanna Spyri // I am determined to finish this one this month! I have been listening to the audiobook and really enjoy it. But I keep forgetting to keep going. This is the month!
Just for Fun:
The Cautious Maiden by Dawn Crandall // Thank you, Dawn for the ARC of your 4th book in the Everstone Chronicles. I love it!
The Nightingale by Kristen Hannah // I got this book for Mother’s Day and I am so excited to check it out. I hear only good things about it.
Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier // I had this fantasy novel recommended to me by a good friend. It’s a retelling of “The 12 Dancing Princesses”; looking forward to experiencing it!
What are you reading this summer?
Good luck on the move to Texas! I visited TX (Dallas) for the first time this past weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it.
