Hi y’all!
Happy September! This is my favorite time of year, and I’m so excited for all things fall!
Today I am really excited to share my review of A Seaview Christmas by Julie Klassen! This Christmas novella is the finale in Julie’s On Devonshire Shores series. I read the first book in this series as an ARC when it released a few years ago, and I have loved every book in the series!
I was absolutely thrilled to get an ARC of this finale to this series! I have loved these beautiful love stories centered around the 5 Summers sisters as they navigate running a guest house amidst the Regency England seaside town of Sidmouth. In each story, one sister finds her happily ever after and I was thrilled to finally read the ending of Sarah’s story!
You can find my reviews of the other books in this series at the links below:

This novella releases today, September 2nd, 2025!
I received an ARC from the author/publisher through Netgalley. All opinions are my own.
Book Summary: “With a promise to her youngest sister, Sarah Summers declares that this year’s Christmas at Sea View will exceed all expectations. But the arrival of Callum Henshall–dashing Scottish widower and returning guest–blows a flurry of doubts into her mind. Sarah had discouraged his attentions before and is once again torn between attraction and duty. Yet even while she’s busy managing the family’s guest house, alluring thoughts of a second chance at love weave their way into her practical heart.
Meanwhile, seventeen-year-old Georgiana eagerly anticipates the exciting Christmas of her dreams after last year’s dull, disappointing holiday filled with endless chores. She enjoys all the promised parties, music, and dancing, but is taken by surprise when young love comes knocking. Does the festive romance of a Sea View Christmas hold the key to a happily-ever-after for both sisters?
Return to Sidmouth for this highly anticipated holiday companion novella to the Summers sisters’ lives and loves on the charming Devonshire shore.”
This story about second chances and chasing love is a beautiful conclusion to a series that has captured my heart via a family of sisters who love each other as they seek their own happily ever afters. Getting to know each of these sisters has been a joy. And seeing them all living their happily ever afters in this story is such a treat. The Christmas setting filled with lovely traditions and experiences from the Regency Era was a lovely backdrop to one last love story for the Summers sisters.
Sarah is the sister that holds the family together and I loved the ways she changes in this story. She wants to control the future after so much difficulty has happened in the past. She lost her father, her mother was an invalid, they had to leave their ancestral home, they opened a guest house, they have economized, and most of her family members have relied on her. Sarah has put her own happiness on hold to help her family. But now it’s finally her turn to choose love!
I loved Callum and how he balances Sarah. He is kind, honest, and handsome. And I love that he comes back to see her! When they miss each other in Scotland, I was so disappointed! But then he comes back to Sidmouth with Effie and the possibilities are limitless again! I love how he sees Sarah and how patient he is with her. He celebrates her efforts with her family while also helping her see the potential for a beautiful life together. Its definitely a second chance romance (sometimes it felt like a 3rd and 4th chance romance with how many times Callum had to persuade Sarah to take a chance!) but their beautiful happily ever after is worth the wait.
I love the cast of characters surrounding these two. From their kind man of all work, Mr Gwilt, to Georgie (the youngest Summers sister who is also starting to grow up). I’m still hoping Julie will write Georgie’s story one day! From little Cora who becomes a part of their family to Mrs Summers who may be my favorite character in this book as she shows Sarah the importance of fighting for love and letting go of control. I loved her character!
One of my favorite historical series! I love the Summers sisters and experiencing each of their happily ever afters has been such a treat.
