Hi y’all!
Happy Saturday! Hope you are enjoying good weather and feeling all the holiday vibes. We have started listening to Christmas music and I love it!
Today I’m here with a short review of a really fun, bookish collection that I heard about from a fellow blogger (please comment if it was you!) Book Love by Debbie Tung is a celebration of all things bookish and book nerds. I loved how true I found so many of these comics!
Book Summary: “Bookworms rejoice! These charming comics capture exactly what it feels like to be head-over-heels for hardcovers. And paperbacks! And ebooks! And bookstores! And libraries!
Book Love is a gift book of comics tailor-made for tea-sipping, spine-sniffing, book-hoarding bibliophiles. Debbie Tung’s comics are humorous and instantly recognizable—making readers laugh while precisely conveying the thoughts and habits of book nerds. Book Love is the ideal gift to let a book lover know they’re understood and appreciated.”
This isn’t a book that should be “reviewed” in my usual way. So I think I will just share some thoughts about what I enjoyed about it as a book worm myself. I don’t think everyone would enjoy this but if you love books, you’ll definitely relate!
- This is a quick read and a different genre than I usually read which was a fun change of place. I can’t think of the last time I read a comic book. But this one was so fun! The illustrations are fun and it’s fun to get so much from the expressions and scenery with few words.
- I loved the bookish feel of the whole book. And she is so clever in how she addresses so many book worm traits. I felt like these were all about me!
- This would be a fun collection to own because I totally relate to the whole thing.
Overall, a fun change of pace for me. I enjoyed the illustrations and the bookish feel. I only wish it was a little longer! Bookworms of all sorts would enjoy this one!
What are some of your favorite bookish tributes?
