Hello bookish friends!
Can you believe we’re in September already? I am so excited for fall–all things pumpkin, cooler weather, and sweaters!
August saw me get back into my reading groove--finishing books in a few days and then moving right into the next one. It feels good to be reading a lot again!
I finished 9 books in August.
I posted 5 reviews.
The Cat who went to Heaven by Elizabeth Coatsworth
Insights from a Prophet’s Life by Sherri Dew (book thoughts)
The Magnolia Story by Chip and Joanna Gaines
A Defense of Honor by Kristi Ann Hunter
The Wilderking Trilogy by Jonathan Rogers (series review)
I shared 2 book lists in August. Both center around some of my favorite settings. And in one I share some big writing news.
8 Books to read set in London
6 Books to read set in New York City
September is already gearing up to be a great month for reading and for writing. Plus, I get to spend the end of the month in my favorite city in the world!!
I hope to make good progress (at least 50%) on my current classic for the Classics Club.
I plan to read one Newbery winner. Here are a few options.
I’m rereading this fantastic series from Kristi Ann Hunter. Both because I love it and because rereading books I’ve already posted about here will help me catch up on a few reviews. Ha!
And I’m working on reading the unread books in my personal library. Here’s a few I’m thinking to read soon–including the eARC of DRAGONWATCH BOOK 3!!!
What are you reading in September?
You read so many great looking books in August! I’m really glad you are enjoying the Benedict society series as it is a series I’ve been wanting to start for a while. I’m also a big C.S. Lewis & Grace Lin fan, so those books are also on my TBR.
Good luck with your September TBR!
In September I am focusing on continuing on with series for a “Series September.” I just finished the 5th book (publication order) in the Chronicles of Narnia series. I am currently reading Queen of Attolia (The Queen’s Thief #2).

Thanks, Amanda!
The Mysterious Benedict Society is seriously so fun! I highly recommend it and am so excited for book 4! I have become a big Grace Lin fan as well. Her books are so beautiful and I love the clever stories and illustrations.
So fun that you’re reading Narnia in publication order! I did that earlier this year and loved the reread. I am also a big Lewis fan π Good luck on Queen of Attolia too!

You had a great reading month! Looks like September is gearing up to be the same.
Enjoy your fall weather for me. We won’t see cooler temps here in the Phoenix area until the end of November π¦ I’m so sick of the heat!

Thanks so much, Susan! Hope you survive the heat for a few more months! It’s fantastic to feel fall already in Utah—Dallas is still in summer like Phoenix.
Happy September!

It was a really intriguing read! I really enjoyed the setting in India–lots if interesting historical details. And the romance is lovely. The ending is intense and a bit over the top for me. But overall, it was quite lovely!

There’s a blast from the past! I remember Mrs Frisby and the Rats of Nimh from when I was at primary school.
