It was a really neat book! True to the essence of Anne but also new! I find those sorts of retellings or pretellings so fascinating!

Nice list! I read A TREE GROWS IN BROOKLYN in college and LOVED it. I still have my copy from back then and I definitely need to do a re-read. I’ve been enjoying Kilpack’s Regency romances as well. I have the two you show here, but my favorite is A HEART REVEALED. Have you read it?

I have only read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn once in HS so I think it’s time for a reread for me as well! And I love Kilpack’s novels especially her literary proper romances. I haven’t read A Heart Revealed yet—better bump it up on my TBR! Thanks, Susan!
