Welcome to November, everyone! I love this time of year and all the anticipation of the holidays to come. We have a lot of fun plans and visits this month. Can’t wait!
This fall has been great for my reading. October was busy and exciting with visits and fun and great books.
- I read book 11 of War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy moving me that much closer to my big 2016 goal of finishing this masterpiece.
- I enjoyed more than I thought Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix for my Harry Potter Marathon 2016.
- I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the letter collection West from Home by Laura Ingalls Wilder.
- I also really enjoyed just for fun…
- I finished Frankenstein by Mary Shelley at the end of the month for The Classics Club. Look for my review this weekend.
- My review of The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald was published this month as well as my review of The Cautious Maiden by Dawn Crandall (one of my favorites this year!)
What an amazing October! Here’s what’s coming this month.
For the Little House Read Along:
On the Way Home: The Diary of a Trip from South Dakota to Mansfield, Missouri, in 1894 by Laura Ingalls Wilder // Looking forward to some more nonfiction from Laura this month.
For my Harry Potter Marathon 2016:
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince by J. K. Rowling // One of my favorite books in the series. I am so excited to reread this!
For The Classics Club:
War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy // I want to read as much as I can and hopefully finish this month! Wow, this is big!
Look for my review of Frankenstein by Mary Shelley this month too. I really loved this novel!
For Book Club:
My Name is Resolute by Nancy E. Turner // I joined my church book club last month! I love book clubs. This month we are reading this long historical fiction novel. Looking forward to it!
For Fun:
The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin // I’m about half way through this quirky book about a bookseller who gets a second chance at life. I am actually really enjoying it.
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir // My sister recommended this new fantasy novel to me and I’m excited to read it!
The Girl Who Wrote in Silk by // I just got this in from the library and am excited to read this novel recommended by the wonderful Amanda at Cover2CoverMom.

What are you reading this month?
Congrats on a successful reading month! Did you post your review for Frankenstein? I’m behind on my blog hopping, so if you have I’m sure I will come across it soon.
An Ember in the Ashes is on my TBR as well! I am hoping to get to it in December along with a few other books I’ve been meaning to read.
Enjoy The Girl that Wrote in Silk! I’m anxious to see what you think about it!
Cheers to another great month in November!

It looks like you had a good month. I would love to reread the Harry Potter books. I need to make my TBR stack a little smaller first, though.

Thanks, AJ! Yeah it was a good one. I had to just push some TBR aside to read Harry Potter again. That TBR pile is always growing, right? 🙂
