I am super excited to participate in a fun and different blogging extravaganza hosted by Rachel @ Beauty and the Bookshelf!
I love that this challenge is different, fun, and casual. It’s easy to get in a blogging slump where I am basically posting reviews and TTTs (both of which, I love!). But I don’t talk a ton about me–the bookish blogger behind the bookish blog. Well, that’s changing now.
Our first challenge is to post an interview with yourself. Enjoy!
At which store would you like to max-out your credit card?
That’s easy: Barnes and Noble. Hands down and too easily 🙂

Which fairy tale character do you love most?
Cinderella. It’s such a sweet story and I love that she finds true love. And I absolutely adore the new Disney movie with Lily James.
What was your favorite TV show growing up?
Definitely Full House. “Everywhere you look…”
And now?
It’s a tie between Downton Abbey and The Middle. I love them for very different reasons. Downton is beautiful, heartbreaking, dramatic, and British. And The Middle is so funny and quirky.
What was your favorite toy as a kid?
I loved my American Girl Doll, Molly. I need to ask my parents where she is….
Can you play any instruments?
Yes, I play the piano and played the clarinet in high school. I’ve recently started playing the piano daily to get my skills back up.
What is the oldest thing in your refrigerator?
Haha. Probably the homemade strawberry jam (which is new to the fridge but was in the freezer for several months) or huge bottle of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing (I’m a Ranch snob. And a jam snob actually.)
What is the nerdiest thing you do in your spare time?
Hmm. Watch Star Trek with my husband?
What is your favorite cereal?
Multigrain Cheerios. They are so good!
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
England. I absolutely love England.
What’s your favorite flavor of Goldfish? M&Ms? Ice Cream?
Parmesan. Crispy. Mint chocolate chip. (In that order 🙂 )
What, or who, are you a “closet” fan of?
My husband and I really love old TV shows. Some of our favorites are The Dick Van Dyke Show, Little House on the Prairie, and The Andy Griffith Show. They make us laugh.
Any other things you love besides books?
College basketball and college football! Seriously, I’m borderline obsessed.
What are three things still left on your bucket list?
Travel to Asia (I’d love to see The Great Wall!)
Write a novel (I’m making plans to!)
Take our kids to Disneyland (They just need to be a bit older to appreciate it!)
If you could have any one superpower, which would you choose?
Apparation from Harry Potter. How awesome would it be to have the ability to instantly get to where you want to go (like my parents house across the country)!?
There you have it. A fun interview with me. I hope you got to know me a bit better. Look for more “Get up offa that Slump: Blogging Extravaganza” posts over the next few weeks!
THE MIDDLE is so funny. I love that show! I would definitely recommend going to Disneyland when your kids are old enough to appreciate it–and tall enough to go on the rides. We went when I was ten, so my sister was, oh, five, maybe? But it really stunk for her because she couldn’t DO so much of the stuff at any of the theme parks down there. I don’t even want to know what the oldest thing in our fridge is. That question is actually terrifying. And you know, I find Cheerios and grain-filled foods to usually be meh and blah, but Multigrain Cheerios are actually REALLY GOOD. Thanks for joining in!

Oh my goodness I’m so glad you know and love The Middle. So funny! Good point on Disneyland rides–definitely couldn’t ride much at this point. Haha fridges can totally be terrifying. And right? SO GOOD! Thank you! 🙂

Hahaha, The Middle always gets me laughing haha 😀 I love all the characters in there – even Sue, who does annoy me sometimes xD
I TOTALLY AGREE HAHA – I live in Australia, but England is my dream country, because that weather honestly attracts me xD I love cloudy/rainy days, and I hear England has a lot of those so… xD
The Great Wall is pretty awesome – you definitely should go! It’s a bit of a hike, walking on the Great Wall itself, but it feels so surreal when you do it haha xD Or at least it did for me! 😀
I totally feel with Apparition omg – I would love to not have to deal with long plane flights when I’m cramped in between two strangers! xD

I’m so glad you know The Middle! Oh my goodness we laugh so hard! I love rainy days too–and England is just so beautiful and green because of it! That is so cool you’ve been to the Great Wall–I bet it will be surreal for me too!
And yes exactly–no more plane rides and no more long travel days.
Thanks for reading!! 🙂

I never watched Full House growing up, mostly because it wasn’t on TV here, but I watched it for the first time last year and completely fell in love with it! I loved Fuller House too, and I can’t wait for season 2. It is one of those shows that just made me always feel really happy!

My nieces were both about 3 years old on their first Disneyland trip and trust me, they really really really appreciated the trip. They still remember the two times they’ve been there and every time we watch a Disney movie they now that the castle and stuff they show during the beginning of all Disney movies is from Disneyland.
This does sound like a good “blogging extravaganza”. I might give it a go if I have the time

Thanks! And that’s just what I need to hear! I want my kids to really know how awesome it is. I have similar memories from when I was a kid. And you totally should post for this extravaganza! I don’t think I will do all the posts, but they are different so I’m excited 🙂

Ah clever questions. It is always hard to talk about myself, let alone questions to ask myself. I love old tv shows as well. There is just something about them. My all them favorite is “I love Lucy” … Always have.

Nice post! I’m a an Anglophile myself, but find myself becoming more and more a Francophile… Someday I would love to go to England, France and of course Italy! 🙂
