I’m back after a truly fantastic adventure in Disneyland with my kids and some of our best friends! It was so hard to leave the happiest place on earth!

Yeah my Dad used to read me some of his favourite books when I was a kid and I loved sharing that with him-his favourite book was actually one of Enid Blyton’s too, called Shadow The Sheepdog, he had his old copy which he read to me, and then I later read it by myself so many times that the book sadly completely fell apart as a result of the combination of age and being enjoyed so much!

Yeah it’s a lovely memory to have, I’m sure your kids will look back on your reading time together with just as much fondness when they’re older. Definitely do, it’s a great read 🙂

So many beautiful books! The cover for The Blackbird Girls really caught my attention. And I LOVE The Faraway Tree – it was so fun when I was a kid!

Great list! Jacobson’s books are so fun and always have great banter. She’s great IRL as well. Eden’s are also funny and swoony, although I’ve only read a few of hers. I also like Woodson. BROWN GIRL DREAMING is especially excellent.

So glad you love so many of these! I absolutely loved Brown Girl Dreaming — SO good! I’m just starting the full Lancaster family series from Eden — I may have started something bigger than I realize. Haha! Thanks for stopping by, my friend 🙂
