Welcome June!

I am excited to get back on track reading and blogging more this summer. May was a busy month outside of blogging so I am just pleased I read anything and even more pleased that I managed a few reviews along the way!

Here’s what happened in May.

I finished 4 books.

June’s plans are lofty and exciting. I am thrilled to be back on track reading more!

I hope to read 2 classics this month. These are on my short list (I started A Little Prince and am fascinated by it!)

I also plan to read 2 Newbery Medal winners. Here is my current short list.

And of course, I’ve always got several books I just want to read for various other reasons.

    1. Thank you, Susan! Screwtape will be a reread that I am super excited for. I am about 1/4 of the way thru Anne Frank and loving it! It’s so honest and real. I don’t think I’ve ever read it before now so this has been fascinating!

      And haha I haven’t read Mrs Frisby before so this should be fun! 🙂 I’ll have to watch the movie too!

    In May, I finished Pride and Prejudice.

    Now I am not reading fiction- now its nonfiction. I am not the biggest fan of nonfiction- but it is a nonfiction book that I will enjoy reading. It is called “Bolton and Wodehouse and Kern: The Men Who Made Musical Comedy”. So a musical theatre history book. I have no idea who these three men are. It is just the book I am reading now.

    My pattern for books will literally go classic-“non-classic”-classic. After a classic, you need a little break- so you need to read a book that isn’t a classic.

        Part of why I use that strategy is because of how hard classics are to read.

        There is only one classic I am not going to use it on- I own Illiad and Odyssey- I might take a one to two week break when I get to that- technically it’s one classic if you think about it.

        I also have my own books to focus on as well- the ones I am writing.
