Welcome back to Top 10 Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl!
This week’s prompt is Characters That Remind Me of Myself. This is such a fun topic! I am a bit stereotypical when it comes to characters that remind me of myself. Or perhaps it’s that I aspire to be like these (mostly) classic characters. Regardless, these are some of my favorite characters from some of my favorite books. Enjoy!
Jo March, Little Women // I am an aspiring writer like Jo, with a matching ability to lose my temper. Although, I would have married Laurie.
Eleanor Dashwood, Sense and Sensibility // I always get Eleanor when I’ve taken “which Jane Austen character are you?” quizzes. I think it fits because I am rather practical, I’m a planner, and while I adore Elizabeth Bennett, I am not quite as daring as she is.
Anne Elliot, Persuasion // I can appreciate Anne’s tendencies to rely on the opinions of people she admires for advice. But I also choose what will make me happy (and I like to think it doesn’t take me so many years to find happiness!)
Hermione Granger, Harry Potter Series // Classic in so many ways. I am very much like Hermione as a student–a recovering perfectionist who always wanted A’s.
Anne Shirley, Anne of Green Gables // I love reading and dreaming like Anne. And I have grown very attached to my homes over the years. Anne is very attached to place like me.
Lucy Pevensie, The Chronicles of Narnia // I like to think I would go through the wardrobe into Narnia. And I definitely will always believe in Narnia.
Liesel Meminger, The Book Thief // Words have power. I like to think I would have had the courage to help a friend and hide a Jew during WWII. And I know that books and words would have given me courage during a war.
Juliet Ashton, The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society // I want to write something that means something. I think friendships are important. And I would fall in love with Guernsey just like Juliet does.
Marianne Daventry, Edenbrooke // I love this book and the way Marianne comes to see herself in the best ways through Philip. I feel the same way about my sweetheart.
Rosalind Penderwick, The Penderwicks Series // I’m an oldest sibling like Rosalind. So everything she does and how she protects and leads her family really resonates with me.
Which characters remind you of yourself?
