Welcome back to Top 10 Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl! I’m throwing it back to an old topic today: Books That Have Been On My TBR the Longest and I Still Haven’t Read. I hope to read several of these this year. Enjoy!
What books have been on your TBR longest?
Diary of Ann Frank is a must read! Loved it!
Life of Pi has one of the best endings I’ve ever read. I STILL think about it!

I sometimes can’t believe I’ve never read Anne Frank before–looking forward to that one. And I’m intrigued by that ending now! Thanks!

Books that been on the TBR the longest.
In terms of the classics: I did get like six at once- a family church friend gave them to me either last summer or two Christmas breaks, but still have been the longest classics:
1. Illiad
2. Odyssey
3. Gulliver’s Travels
4. Kidnapped
5. Anna Karnenia
6. War and Peace
Technically, I read Illiad, Odyssey, and Gulliver in high school, but it wasn’t the entire book. This time is the entire thing. The books I mentioned are the classics that have been on my TBR. In addition to the classics, one of my musical theatre books hasn’t been read yet for two years (I believe). There is a 2nd musical theatre book (which I first got last summer). So basically any book I haven’t read the longest hasn’t been touched for 1-2 years.

Those are some great classics! I’ve read War and Peace (it’s a big one!) just a few years ago.
Then I read The Odyssey in HS and some of Illiad and Gulliver. Good luck with all your TBR reads!

I had The Life of Pi on my TBR FOREVER, too! I read the first chapter but had to put it down for some reason and never went back. I gave in and took it off my TBR. I just don’t think I’ll ever get back to it. I hope you do, though!

Haha! There are certainly some books that just aren’t meant to be. I haven’t even done that much so we will see if I give it a chance here soon!

Ah, I so relate to this. My TBR, I’m afraid, may have slightly become a bottomless black hole. To the point where I’m sometimes surprised that certain books are on it, because I don’t remember adding them. xD 1776 was on mine forever, and I even bought a copy of it, but I finally gave up on it after it sat on my shelf for, like, 10 years lol. Hope you have better luck getting to your TBR than I do with mine!
Here’s my TTT.

Haha! That is the truth! Sometimes I randomly come across a book or three on my TBR that I don’t remember adding. I’m hoping one day it will be the right time for 1776 and others.

I kid you not, I noticed Dread Nation on a $1.99 sale a couple months ago and have been wanting to read it badly, so I went to buy it … I had already bought it. Like, six months prior. Had no idea. It has apparently just been chilling on my Kindle, plotting its revenge. If I had any amount of shame, I’d be embarrassed about it, but I don’t, so that’s that. xD It’s almost like Christmas comes early when I notice I already have a book I wanted LOL.

Haha! That is the best story! And amen to that–I love rediscovering what books I’ve already bought. Haha

I need to read North and South. That’s the only one we share from this list!

I hear so many good things. I’m thinking to start it after I finish The Grapes of Wrath–which has been a tough one for me.

I love North and South. I hope you get around to reading it. Elizabeth Gaskell’s writing is very accessible for modern readers, and the plot and characters are interesting.

Good luck with Grapes of Wrath. It was one of my favorite novels when I was younger, but I haven’t read it in years.

That’s neat! It’s been a tough one for me. I’m blaming it on my love of British Lit–I just don’t really love great American classics. Haha!

Gone with the Wind is great! Books by Evelyn Waugh have been on my TBR list the longest.

I’ve seen the movie which inspired me to read the book–one day! 🙂 Good luck with those Waugh books!

The book ‘life of Pi’ is a great book but i didn’t think it translated anywhere near as well in the film! Happy reading!

Interesting! I have seen the film and found it very compelling. You don’t often hear the movie being better than the book. I’m intrigued now, Hannah! 🙂
