Happy 2019, my friends! 

I am very pleased with how my 2018 reading goals came together this year. While I certainly wasn’t perfect (still not reading much nonfiction and plenty to read for the first time on my shelves), I had such a great reading year! I read so many wonderful books and was able to meet some other bookish goals as well.

Biggest news is I broke my record for most books read in a single year! This year I read . . . 76 Books! I am so proud of this amazing number! What a fantastic reading year it’s been for me!

What a year!!
 I started this blog as a way to keep myself motivated to read as a new mom. I am so proud of what it has become. Thank you for your support and positive feedback on my reviews, goals, and nerdy favorites lists. The book blogging community is wonderful, and I’m lucky to be a part of it. Thank you for your friendship! I appreciate y’all!

    Top Books:

    1. Nicholas Nickleby- loved that book so much. Likeable protagonist. Incredible

    2. What I am about to say may or may not count, but it kind of does for me (it is the story of mine I started writing over the summer, so I have loved reading and working on it over the months): It is a children’s fantasy set in The Cattail Forest where Fairy Frogs and Toads live among other animals. This is Sparkle’s (a Fairy Frog) of how she befriends Marge, (a toad), but what happen when Sarge, Marge’s cousin, tries to break up this friendship? Sparkle and Marge soon decide to have the Fairy Frogs befriend all the toads. Sarge is trying to break up both friendships. I have had to edit it- so I have read it- it is my book- but it does count for me.

      And congratulations on writing a book! How exciting! I think that definitely counts–you’ve probably read that more an any other book lately, right? Editing and revision are big tasks. I hope it’s going well!

        In between drafts on my Fairy Frogs book, I take a break- which can be two weeks: that was the break in between my first and second draft.

        My second draft, I spent the first part rereading the first draft outloud, which allowed me to see if I can notice mistakes. Then I was able to really spend time working on the second draft.

        I then sent my finished second draft to my dad, who is my first reader- who read my book- he read it once giving me some big story things to work on. I ended up going to those sections of the book working on them and improving on them.

        Now, that book is being read my dad again- now he is commenting on the entire book- after that, I will look at fixing some things up before being sent to more readers.

        This book still has no title

Stevenson,”Jane Austen’s Christmas” by Carlo DeVito “Galway Bay” by Mary Pat Kelly,”The Twelve Clues Of Christmas”by Rhys Bowen and Christmas At Provence” by Mary Jane Deeb .I hope to re discover Jane Austen in 2019.
