Happy October, my friends!
This is my favorite month of the year. I love all things pumpkin, fall leaves, and the anticipation of the holidays. I think Anne Shirley said it best…
Today I am excited to share my reading progress this fall. September was a great month for me. I finished 7 books. This list including The Lord of the Rings trilogy (one of my reread goals this year), a Newbery Medal winner, and 2 books for the Classics Club!
I started 2 books.
I reviewed 4 books (I need to catch up this month!!).
The Penderwicks in Spring by Jeanne Birdsall
The Penderwicks at Last by Jeanne Birdsall
The War That Saved My Life by Kimberly Brubaker Bradley
The Ringmaster’s Wife by Kristy Cambron
October is going to be a fun, busy month for us as we are visiting family for a few weeks and celebrating Halloween too. Trying to keep my goals more reasonable with that in mind 😉
First, I want to write 5 reviews–hopefully of these novels.
I plan to finish these 2 books. One for the Classics Club, and one is an ARC.
I also want to read…
What are y’all reading this month?
Great reading month! I’ve always wanted to read Around the World in 80 Days! I read Journey to the Center of the Earth and really enjoyed it!

Crikey! Well done on so much reading – I haven’t read LOTR but may be one day. Good luck with your review write ups, I’m always behind and am starting to think I should get a system going, I admire your organisation!

Thank you!! I go thru phases of being on top of review writing and being so behind. Haha!
And I hope you get a chance to read LOTR one day. It really is a fantasy masterpiece!

October is my favorite month, too. Finally the hot weather is going away. I really liked The War That Saved My Life and A Man Called Ove. I still need to read Dead End In Norvelt. Happy October!

Yes! We are still hanging on to heat from humidity here–but I’m hopeful it will change soon! Those were two of my favorites this month. Happy October to you too! 🙂

I do not plan to read anything: all I am reading is my WIP- I am reading my first draft and commenting what needs to be fixing and then going in and fixing things up- that is how I am approaching this second draft.

Anne Shirley is certainly correct. She knew a thing or two, that wonderful woman!
You had such a great September! I’m so glad. I am also behind in my reviews— but by far more than 5 books. 🤣 I hope to set aside some time this coming weekend to catch up a bit… we shall see how that works out.
I am looking forward to your review of Dead End— I had quite mixed feelings!

She is a special woman, am I right? 🙂
Thank you! It felt good to do so much reading this month. I have similar aspirations for pumping out several reviews soon.
And thanks. I had mixed feelings too. Still figuring out my thoughts on that one.

Thank you! Loved LOTR on this reread. And yes! Ove is so endearing even though he is so frustrated with everyone and everything about life. 🙂
