Hi y’all! I’m excited to participate in a new (to me) linkup hosted by Bionic Book Worm! This is a similar meme to Top 10 Tuesday only it’s Top 5 and the prompts are a little different. I’m excited to check it out! Thank you to Shanah for hosting and letting me join at a random time 🙂
This week’s theme is books I’ve read because of blogs or Youtube. It was easy for me to come up with this list because there are actually quite a few books that I have read and loved because of book blogging. Y’all are the best! Enjoy!
The Penderwicks Series by Jeanne Birdsall // Thank you to the Read Aloud Revival and Sarah Emsley for this recommendation! I’m loving them and finally getting close to getting the last 2 books from the library!
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeymoon // Thank you to Jackie for this recommendation. It was a surprising read for me–outside my usual genres but poignant and fascinating.
Cinder (The Lunar Chronicles) by Marissa Meyer // This is one of the first books I read because of a blogging recommendation. I can’t remember who recommended it but thank you! Love this entire series!
Dear Mr. Knightley by Katherine Reay // This is one of my favorite recommendations from Carrie (who always recommends my new favorite book in historical and contemporary romance)! I love all the clever literary allusions in this one and it has led me to read all of Katherine’s books. They are amazing!
The Storied Life of AJ Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin // I think someone recommended this on a TTT post about books to read if you love books about books. Which is super nerdy and totally my kind of thing! Thank you, whoever you are! Loved this quirky, endearing story about the power of books and of love.
What are some of your favorite blogger recommended reads?
I still need to read Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine. I also read Jackie’s review and know how much she loved it.
I was not a big fan of Cinder… It was just “meh” for me. Not sure I’ll continue. Everyone else seems to love it though.

Elanor Oliphant is definitely outside my usual genres. But it’s gorgeously written and endearing despite it’s intensity and sometimes rather dark moments. A really intriguing read!
And I am totally on the Lunar Chronicles bandwagon! Haha. Loved all the books! Sorry to hear it wasn’t your favorite.

!!!! I’m so glad to see Eleanor Oliphant on this list. It makes my heart sing to hear you enjoyed it. I would obviously include that book… hm. Starfish is a book I found because of blogging and really loved. Oh, and Anne of Green Gables. 😁

Is it bad that I don’t remember where I hear about books? I did read VE Schwab’s books because of bloggers. I was looking for fantasy books for people who don’t like fantasy, and those were recommended to me. The blogosphere was right. I don’t really like fantasy, but I like the Shades of Magic books.

Too many to mention. Before blogging I got my reading inspiration from the bookstore and looking on Goodreads most of all but since blogging I get so much recommendations from other bloggers. My current read (Jar of Hearts by Jennifer Hillier) is also one that I saw on multiple sites and someone actually said she thought I’d definitely like it.. she’s right too 🙂

That’s awesome! I can totally relate to getting inspiration at the bookstore–I still do that on occasion. Don’t you love when someone recommends a book to you and it’s everything you hoped it would be? That’s my favorite!
