Welcome back to Top 10 Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl!
I have been a bit MIA lately with family in town and the craziness of life. But I am hoping to be more regular in my posts in the coming weeks. Today I am super excited about this TTT prompt: Books That Take Place In Another Country. Since I’m in the US, I’m just going for anything outside of America. And I managed to find 10 that are set in different countries from each other. Enjoy!
The Zookeeper’s Wife by Diane Ackerman // Poland
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho // Spain and Africa
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo // France
The Lady of the Lakes by Josi S. Kilpack // Scotland & England
Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery // Canada
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern // Located all over the globe
A Portrait of Emily Price by Katherine Reay // Italy
The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer // Guernsey (mostly)
Heidi by Johanna Spyri // Switzerland
War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy // Russia (primarily)
The Book Thief by Markus Zusak // Germany
What books do you love set in a different country?

You’ve got some great books on this list! War and Peace, definitely, and I really loved Heidi. I still need to read Les Miserables, so I couldn’t include that one on my list (I went with Count of Monte Cristo instead).

Thank you!! Les Mes is incredible! And it was easier than War and Peace for me 🙂 I love Count of Monte Cristo as well–I need to reread that one!

Growing up, I did fall in love with the Narnia movies. It wasn’t until college that I started reading Lord of the Rings. Both are a wonderful series.

I love the Narnia movies too! Read the full series for the first time as an adult and was blown away! I reread LOTR in a college class as well!

Books required to read in school are much harder to appreciate than ones you read for fun

Heidi and Anne of Green Gables are the only books on this list that I’ve read (and I really liked them both!). But both Night Circus and The Book Thief are on my TBR… hopefully I can get to them soon!
