Hi everyone! Welcome back to a new week of Top 10 Tuesday hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! This week’s theme is a Halloween Freebie.
This is kind of a hard topic for me. I don’t read a lot of scary books and basically no horror. I am reading Frankenstein by Mary Shelley right now which is as scary as I go (and it might give me nightmares).
We do love October at our house. I love fall decorations, changing leaves, Halloween candy, costumes and Halloween shows like classic The Addams Family.
My sister left yesterday after a great week of adventures and good food. We’re not leaving the house today and are all moving a bit slower. So I thought I would do a bit of a repeat.
Last year, I posted about some favorite literary Halloween costumes. I thought I would add a few this year.
The BFG from Roald Dahl // I have seen several cute ideas for this costume this year which has gained new popularity with the new movie.
Elizabeth Bennett, Emma Woodhouse, or The Dashwood Sisters from Jane Austen // I think dressing up as an Austen heroine would be so fun and classy!
A Hobbit from Lord of the Rings // My favorite characters in the classic series. If you want to get extra creative, go for something else from LOTR like the one ring or a orc.
Charlotte and her web or Wilbur from Charlotte’s Web // I think this idea is so clever and darling!
Your favorite book cover // I have actually seen several of these this year. You wear a big box and design it as your favorite book cover. If you can incorporate your hands into the design, even better (think Twilight cover).
What are some of your favorite Halloween costume ideas?

It would be so fun to dress as an LoTR character! 🙂

I love a good cat in the hat costume or Sherlock Holmes.

How have I never thought about designing a box to look like a cover?!? Perfect! I also love the Charlotte’s Web idea… if only I could convince my entire family to do this lol

Thanks, Amanda! And I know right? Convincing my husband to dress up is usually a challenge 🙂
