April Wrap-Up and May TBR

Hi all! I’m a bit late getting this post together this month. I keep saying the year is flying by and its still true! I was a bit of a book group slacker this month. But I am super excited to share some of the books I read in April–it was a great reading month for me!

April’s books (and reviews) were as follows:

May is going to be a great month for reading. I am already slightly behind on my reviews because I’ve hit the ground running!

For Book Group:
I am super excited to host my neighborhood book group and read one my favorites that I haven’t read in years!

The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows // One of my favorites. Super excited to discuss and write about it!

For #LittleHouse RAL:

By the Shores of Silver Lake by Laura Ingalls Wilder // Excited to continue reading about Laura’s story in this Newbery Honor book.

For The Classics Club:

War and Peace, Book 8 by Leo Tolstoy // Getting super close to that illusive half way mark!

Heidi by Johanna Spyri // I have listened to several chapters in Heidi and I love the sweet and simple style of writing and of life in the novel.

Just for Fun:

The Bound Heart by Dawn Crandall // This second book in the Everstone Chronicles is wonderful. I have read it and need to review it 🙂

The Crown by Kiera Cass // My nerdy obsession series. I love this series and I am about half way through this concluding novel. My sisters and I may have made a scene at the bookstore buying it Tuesday 🙂

Fablehaven: Keys of the Demon Prison by Brandon Mull // The final novel in the Fablehaven series is exciting and dramatic. Can’t wait to reread it and review it!

The Butterfly and the Violin by Kristy Cambron // This one has been on my list for a while. It’s a lot different than my other “for fun” books this month so I hope it will bring a nice balance to my reading.

What are you reading in May?

  1. Yay for the progress on War and Peace! I read that book years ago but I’ve sort of been meaning to revisit it as I don’t remember much of the details (especially compared to Anna Karenina). I do however remember enjoying the book.

I loved The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society too!

Wishing you a wonderful May 🙂

    1. Thanks! It was a good month for reading. And I totally agree. It’s super intimidating even as I am in the middle of it! But I also enjoy a lot of it too. But then I am also excited to finish it and have bragging rights! Haha 🙂
