Welcome back to Top 10 Tuesday hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! I just really love TTT and connecting with so many awesome bloggers. You guys are the best!
Every week we create a list of our Top 10 based on the theme given at the link above. This week’s theme is Top Ten Bookworm Delights. I was so excited when I saw this theme. It’s always fun to talk about bookish things that I love.
Bookstores // Of all sorts and all sizes. I love little hole-in-the-wall bookstores that are one of a kind and I love Barnes and Noble stores or the book aisle at Costco. I just love bookstores and love browsing for hours. And my sweet husband often lets me buy something. He’s the best 🙂
Beautiful hard cover books // I really love buying beautiful hard covers. I love the Barnes and Noble classic collections. I love old classics. I love new novels with beautiful colors and font. I just love beautiful books.
Bringing home 5+ books from the library // And not knowing which one to read first. I absolutely love browsing in the library and not feeling bad at all when I check out too many books 🙂
When the book I really want to read finally comes in at the library // Being on the waitlist for library books is hard and exciting. I love getting those emails and devouring the book first–no matter how deep my TBR pile has become.
Midnight book release parties // Some of my favorite bookish memories come from dressing up as Harry Potter characters and anxiously awaiting the newest book. I’ve been to a few other releases, but the HP ones were the best!
Literary Sites // I love it all–author homes, book locations, even movie sets. I am a super nerd when it comes to literary locations. Check out my favorites in this post.
Reading a book in one day // Love when I get so engrossed by a novel that I just keep reading and reading and reading (and not doing all the other things I should do). It is so wonderful to just read 🙂
The Smell of Books // I love the smell when you first walk into Barnes and Noble. I love the smell of old books, new books, small and big. I love the creak of the pages the first time you open a new book.
Finding bookworms who love the same books // It’s such a lovely moment when I find new friends who love and obsess over the same books I do. So many of you bloggers are my kind of bookworms 🙂
My personal library // I love arranging my books on my bookshelves and growing my library. I hope to have a room full of shelves packed with books in my dream house one day. And a window seat–how lovely is the one in this picture?
Bonus: (because how do I stop listing my endless list of bookish delights??) first editions of books, rare editions, signed copies of books, meeting favorite authors, and always building my wishlists for books to read and to own 🙂
What bookish things delight you?
Great list!

Great list, Jane!! It’s always fun to see other’s lists just because I wanna see if they are as weird as me 😉 I can totally relate to beautiful hardcovers & bookstores — they are the loves of my life ❤

I have only ever been to ONE midnight book release. I was in college at the time, and home for break (I don’t recall which break) and I went with a group of friends to Walmart to wait for the very last Harry Potter book to be released. I remember it was a TON of fun. Unfortunately, I live in a very small town, and book releases…aren’t much a big deal around here. Maybe someday, I’ll be able to go to another. Perhaps, one day, with my own kids, when I have them–that would be pretty awesome, I think!
Awesome post this week! Here’s my TTT, if you’d like to check it out!

Thanks so much! I love that you went to a midnight release for Harry Potter. Those were my favorite. I would have to try to convince myself not to read the whole book when I got home so I could remember it. Haha. I’m seriously looking into upcoming midnight release parties right now. 🙂

Oh my, bookstores. Especially second hand bookstores, with higgledy-piggledy shelves and books everywhere and a dusty impression that you might find anything back here. Always a joy.

So many of us used that gif of Rory this week, but it is just the perfect thing to use. She was totally my role model back in the day. Her and Veronica Mars were my heroes.

Haha so true! Rory is so perfect for a theme like this one. I absolutely love Gilmore Girls. Can’t wait for the revival!!

Definitely! And Logan, Jess and Dean will all be there as well. So curious as to who she will end up with. (obviously not Dean, but still …)

Oh nice! Haha. Dean was great in season 1 and went downhill from there for me. Jess is the surprise because he actually became successful. I am still mad that Rory didn’t say yes to Logan though. Its going to be so good! 🙂

I was so mad at Rory for turning him down too!!!

I love library hold lists, too–except for when I get carried away, and 8 books show up all at once, and I already have 15 books checked out. Then I’m a little sorry. But only a little! My TTT

Haha that happens to me too sometimes! Then I always think I should just buy half the books. Haha.

I LOVE midnight releases! There aren’t nearly enough of them for me to go to anymore, but back in high school? I loved waiting up all night!
