Top 10 Tuesday: Favorite Book Series Ever

Hi everyone! Today I’m back with another great installment of Top 10 Tuesday hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! This week’s theme is a freebie!

I am so excited to share some of my favorite book series with you today! I love series because we get more of the story and get to grow with the characters. I love midnight book parties. I love staying up too late reading the next installment in the series. And I love having series on my bookshelves. But I also have high expectations for series. A disappointing final book can ruin a whole series for me. There are several series that I loved the first book but the series got worse as it progressed. But there are others that seemed to get better as they continued.

So here they are (in no particular order)–my favorite series!

Harry Potter by JK Rowling // My favorite series of all time. Harry Potter taught me to love reading. One day, I hope to blog about each book.

The Chronicles of Narnia by C. S. Lewis // I think I appreciate these more as an adult than I did as a child. I love the incredible allegories in these stories and the timeless characters.

The Selection Series by Kiera Cass // These are my girly, love story favorites. They are just darling and I love them. Check out my reviews here and here.

The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien // I read these in high school and got to study them again in my senior English course during my undergrad. Truly masterpieces and the movies are great too.

The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer // My most recent favorite series! I absolutely adore these books! They are so clever and so intense and so great. Check out my reviews of Cinder, Scarlet, Cress, Fairest, and Winter.

Fablehaven by Brandon Mull // This fantasy series is just fantastic! The action is great and I love the way it crosses reality with fantasy. Rereading these now!

Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan // I think I learned more about Greek Mythology from these books than I did in school. Quick reads and fun ways to learn about myths.

The Books of Bayern by Shannon Hale // I absolutely love these books. Hale is a master storyteller and these books are each unique and engaging. Reviews of Goose Girl and Forest Born.

Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer // It has been years since I read these books and I hope to reread them soon. I remember them being clever, different, and intriguing–a young genius looking to capture fairies.

Anne of Green Gables by L. M Montgomery // I didn’t realize this was part of a series until a few years ago. While the first one is still my favorite, I love getting more details about dear Anne in the other books.

Little House Books by Laura Ingalls Wilder // I just finished the first one again as part of the Little House Read Along and remembered how sweet and lovable these books are.

Hard to stop there! What are your favorite series?

As a child, I loved Magic Tree House Books. Later, I loved the Harry Power Series and Chronicles of Narnia Series and in high school or middle school, fell in love with the Percy Jackson series and in high school loved the Lord of the Rings series. Now, The Land of Stories series is a new favorite. Seems to me that I love fantasy a lot

  2. Lovely list! I do love the Little House books, LOTR, Narnia, and especially Harry Potter (“Always”. Sigh.) For me, Outlander and A Song of Ice and Fire would be right at the top. 🙂 And I am definitely planning to finally read Anne of Green Gables this year!

  3. I’ve read all but the Fablehaven and Shannon Hale books! I LOVED Little House on the Praire as a kid, so much so that a friend and I would pretend to be Mary and Laura during recess! And the entire Anne series has always been very close to my heart
