Welcome back to Top 10 Tuesday hosted by The Broke and the Bookish! This week’s topic is Top Ten 2015 Releases I Meant To Get To But Didn’t. I honestly had a super hard time coming up with much. So I thought I would broaden the time frame to just recent releases (about 5 years or less). Hoping to get to some of these in 2016!
Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell // Reserved this one at the library!
Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas // I keep hearing great things about Maas and her novels. I have heard a lot about both of these from fellow bloggers. Excited to check them out!
City of Bones and Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare // Another author I have heard so much about. Not sure which series to start first. The covers are incredible!
From the Notebooks of a Middle School Princess by Meg Cabot // I loved Cabot’s princess books when I was a teenager. And I think this one sounds so cute. Still planning on reading it!
Circus Mirandus by Cassie Beasley // I have gotten to the top of the wait list at the library twice for this one but the timing didn’t work out to get it. Can’t wait to finally read it someday!
Mr. Penumbra’s 24 Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan // Another book I have wanted to check out. It sounds clever and fun.
Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee // Okay, I really don’t know how this one slipped through the cracks. I had every intention of reading it last year but here we are. Definitely have plans to read it this year!
Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard // Another book that I keep hearing about. Excited to check it out.
What books have you missed in the past few years?
And which of these should I read first?

Great TBR! I’ve read “City of Bones,” “Clockwork Angel,” and “Throne of Glass” and loved them all. There are mixed reviews for “Throne of Glass,” but the books get better as the series go on. Happy Reading! 🙂

Thank you! I am excited to read all of those. I have heard that about the Throne of Glass series too. Thanks!

Great list! If you prefer reading things in chronological order, I’d say go for The Clockwork Angel first, if not then start by The City of Bones and then go back because it allows you to see the progression in Cassandra’s Clare writing.

Thank you! And thanks for the tip. I will definitely take that into account! I appreciate seeing more of a progression in writing usually–maybe I will try them that way. Thanks!

I read Throne of Glass last year too… but I actually really didn’t like it, haha. I also have read Red Queen and found it lacking! I’ve read Penumbra and Eleanor & Park and those are good books, though, so I’m sure it’s not just me being picky. 😛
Here’s my list. 🙂

Thanks for your comment! I appreciate your thoughts. Throne of Glass is a lot outside my usual favorite genre–so we will see how I like it 🙂 Penumbra especially sounds right up my alley. Looking forward to them!

Everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) seems to be holding a giant neon sign that’s telling me to read Throne of Glass and I’ve held out for this long…let’s see if I can wait some more for a potential series binge.
Cheers,

Haha. It is definitely the series to read! But holding out until the whole series exists is smart–that will save you some time in anxious anticipation. 🙂

Isn’t that the truth!? If only I could just read all day everyday and not have any other responsibilities 🙂 No problem!

I love Eleanor & Park. That book just really stayed with me after I finished it. I’ve had Mr. Penumbra on my TBR list for a few years now, and just have to finally read it! I read the first three Clare books (City of Bones etc), enjoyed them, but felt that that was enough of the series. Anyway, looks like you have some great choices here. I hope you enjoy them!

Thanks for stopping by and for your thoughts. Eleanor and Park is definitely top of my current list. I hope we both get to Mr Penumbra soon! I am intrigued by Clare’s books as well.

I finally read Throne of Glass last year, and loved it. The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices are two of my favorite series, though I prefer TID more. The two series crossover from time to time, but you can read them on their own, or according to Clare’s reading order.

Thanks so much! I need to check these all out. I didn’t realize TMI and TID are connected. That will be neat to read.
